MILLINGTON, TN -
(WMC-TV) - Police made an arrest in connection with the attacks on two women in the Millington Kroger parking lot.
The two women were attacked on January 11 in the same parking lot, but at different times.
Dena Hamilton was robbed and hit with a baseball bat as she loaded groceries into her car. She said a woman asked to borrow her cell phone before the attack.
Lareda Thurman, who is pregnant, says she and her unborn child were threatened by three people in a dark-colored Honda.
Shellie Miles, 33, of Memphis, was arrested and charged with robbery for the crimes.
But according to police, the Kroger parking lot was not Miles' first stop in her crime spree.
According to Tipton County law enforcement officers, she burglarized two houses before crossing the county line into Millington.
So, how do police say they caught her?
"That muddy car is what got her and she didn't wash it," said Millington Police Department Inspector Charlie Coleman. "She should've washed it off because that's how muddy it was and it had a drive out tag."
Police say Miles' teenage daughter was also in the car during the attacks and that her daughters' friend was driving.
Bartlett police want to question Miles for a crime that happened there on the same day as the crimes in Millington and Tipton County.
Shellie Miles is in jail on a $100,000 bond. She will appear in court Tuesday.
