Twelve video gambling machines were seized from three Irmo businesses Thursday, according to a news release from the Lexington County Sheriff's Department.

Those three businesses were on Augusta Road, Columbia Avenue, and Emmanuel Church Road, according to Sheriff James Metts.

In the first bust on Augusta Road, Metts said investigators seized five video gambling machines, one five-camera video surveillance security system, and $70.

Over at Anchor Lanes on Columbia Avenue, deputies seized five more machines and $194, according to Metts.

Finally, Metts said the last two machines and $938 were taken from the Horseshoe Tavern on Emanuel Church Road. Metts said those two machines were equipped with remote systems controlled by key fobs that could alter the gaming board on each gambling device from an illegal game to a legal one.

So far, no one has been arrested or charged with operating the machines.
