BCSO: Pot, pills seized from Beaufort home

BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) -

Two men were arrested Thursday in connection with a drug investigation by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Drug Investigations Section.

Investigators had information that James Odom and Lorenzo Rivers, both of Beaufort, were dealing illegal drugs from a home on Beeburst Lane, according to the BCSO.

Investigators received information from several people and made a drug buy from the home.

A search warrant on the home was then sought. The warrant was executed at about 10 a.m. Thursday.

Investigators made contact with Odom and Rivers. They were charged and taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center.

Odom is charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana; possession of cocaine; possession of a stolen firearm; possession of Schedule II drugs (Hydrocodone).

Rivers is charged with possession with intent to distribute Scheduled II Drugs (Hydrocodone); possession of cocaine; possession of a stolen firearm.

A search of Rivers' yielded several pills of what was thought to be Hydrocodone. A search of the home resulted in the seizure of 1268 grams of marijuana; less than 1 gram of cocaine; 17 pills Hydrocodone; 2 handguns; 1 rifle;  drug paraphernalia and $665 in cash, according to the BCSO. One of the weapons had been previously reported stolen out of Beaufort County.

The investigation continues.
