Report: 2.8 pounds of pot, 3 guns found in Beaufort home

BEAUFORT, SC (WCSC) -

Authorities say two men were arrested Thursday after a search warrant uncovered nearly three pounds of marijuana, pills, and several guns inside a Beaufort home.

James Odom, 35, has been charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of schedule II drugs. Lorenzo Rivers, 26, has been charged with possession of cocaine, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession with intent to distribute schedule II drugs.

According to a release, deputies received a search warrant for a home located at 19 Beeburst lane after it was discovered Odom and Rivers were dealing drugs from the home.

During a search of the home, deputies seized nearly 2.8 pounds of marijuana, 17 Hydrocodone pills, less than one gram of cocaine, two handguns, one rifle, and drug paraphernalia. They also seized $665 in cash.

Deputies say one of the seized weapons was previously reported stolen out of Beaufort County.

Both suspects, who were in the residence at the time of the search, were arrested.
