HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Hartford police are investigating an early morning stabbing.

Officers were called to Enfield Street near Vineland Terrace just after 4:30 a.m. after getting calls saying a man had been stabbed and was asking for help.

According to police, the man ran to one of the houses along Enfield Street looking for help after being stabbed nearby.

The victim was alert and speaking to officers while he was being loaded into an ambulance to be taken for treatment at an area hospital.

Police said the victim is known to them and does have a history of being uncooperative, but the incident is still under investigation.
