Carolyn Callahan

Carolyn Callahan anchors WIS News 10 on Saturday and Sunday mornings. She also reports for the weekend evening news and during the week.

A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Carolyn is happy to call the Palmetto State home once again. After graduating, Carolyn moved to Bangor, Maine to work at the ABC/FOX station. Carolyn was the only full-time news reporter at the station at the time. After two years, Carolyn moved across town to the #1 station in the market, WABI. She started as the weekend anchor/producer and was quickly promoted to anchor of the noon and co-anchor of the hour-long 5pm news.

During her time in Maine, Carolyn won several awards from the Maine Association of Broadcasters, including "Best Continuing Coverage" for her reports on the murder of a teenager in Bangor. She also won "Best Enterprise Reporting" for her series on medical mysteries in Maine. In 2012, Carolyn was awarded the Hashtagger Award from Social Media Breakfast Bangor for her outstanding use of Twitter and Facebook. In 2013, she was named Maine's Favorite Newswoman.

She covered the visit of President Obama and the resignation of Senator Olympia Snowe.

Carolyn also produced and anchored special hour-long primetime special reports on topics such as drug abuse and same-sex marriage. She also did in-depth reporting on suicide in Maine.

Carolyn grew up in Massachusetts and interned at Boston's WCVB-TV for the EyeOpener during summer break from USC.

When she's not working you'll likely find her at the pool, cheering on the Gamecocks, or in the kitchen. Carolyn loves to bake and is always coming up with new recipes.

If you see her around the Midlands, don't hesitate to say hello. If you have a story idea, news tip, or just want to chat, email her or follow her on Facebook and/or Twitter.
