MIAMI, FL (WIS) -

The Clemson Tigers met a special young man Thursday who traveled all the way from the Upstate.

Twenty-year-old Rion Holcombe became an Internet sensation when his mom recorded the moment he was accepted into Clemson University's LIFE Program. Susan Holcombe uploaded the video to Youtube where it has been viewed over 1.7 million times.

Last week, the Orange Bowl selected Holcombe as Clemson's Ultimate Fan, Clemson University officials said.

After seeing the video Rion submitted in order to earn that distinction, the Tigers wanted to meet him in person, so they invited him to their team meeting on Thursday afternoon at the Fontainbleau Hotel.

Rion, who has Down syndrome, met the players and coaches and even led the team in their final group huddle.

The ClemsonLIFE program is for people with intellectual disabilities and is aimed to give them an opportunity to have "postsecondary experience on a college campus," according to the program's website.
