ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

An Orangeburg County man was arrested this week after DNA evidence linked him to a 2011 burglary, Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said.

Marquel Hakeem Bryant of Vance is accused of ransacking a home on Camden Road on May 26, 2011.

Ravenell said Bryant stole a video game system, prescription drugs, checkbooks, clothes, and shoes during the burglary.

Using DNA testing, a pair of work gloves left at the residence were used to positively identify Bryant as a suspect.

"Bryant's arrest showcases this agency's resolve to investigate cases, follow evidence, and make arrests regardless of the length of time it may take," said Ravenell.

Bryant's bond hearing was scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
