Richland County Sheriff's deputies are hoping the community can help them identify and locate the person or persons responsible for stealing a South Carolina Department of Probation, Pardon and Parole vehicle from a Midlands repair shop.

The vehicle was taken from Action Transmission Service at 3137 Broad River Road between Friday, December 27 and Monday, December 30.

The silver 2007 Ford Crown Victoria has South Carolina license tag AZC-731 and is equipped with a blue light connected to the passenger side visor, and two blue lights in the rear window.

Sheriff Leon Lott says it is imperative to be on the look out for this vehicle.

If you are stopped by any law enforcement officer at night, you should pull over in a well-lighted area when you feel it is safe to do so. The sheriff added that you should ask to see the credentials of any plain clothes officer who may approach your vehicle.

To receive up to $1000 for information leading to the arrest of the persons responsible, you are urged to call your anonymous tip to Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
