Fountain Inn couple killed in Greenville Co. wreck

GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A crash that killed a husband and wife is under investigation in Greenville County.

According to the Highway Patrol, the man and woman died around 10:40 p.m. Monday when three cars collided on Fairview Road near Neely Ferry Road in Simpsonville.

Trooper Billy Elder says a pickup truck and a Nissan Altima were heading south on Fairview Road, when the Nissan struck a Chevrolet pickup truck going northbound.

The male driver of the Altima was pronounced dead at the scene. His female passenger was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Trauma Center, where she was pronounced dead. The victims have been identified as Samad Turner, 30 and Leanna Turner, 23.

The Greenville County Coroners office says both victims died from blunt force trauma to the head.

The drivers of the two other vehicles were taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital, their conditions are unknown.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck.
