Four arrested in Dutch Fork area meth lab bust

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

Four people are in custody after Richland County deputies found what they believe was a meth lab operating out of an Irmo area home. 

Richland County Sheriff's Department spokesperson Sergeant Curtis Wilson says they received a call about a strong odor coming from a home on Black Creek Lane around 7:30 Thursday night. 

Once deputies arrived to the home, which is off of St. John's Road near Eleazer Road, they noticed a strong chemical odor coming from the garage so they searched the home. 

Inside the home, deputies found materials consistent with manufacturing methamphetamine, Wilson said.

Hubert Smoak, 31, is charged with drugs / administer, distribute, etc. controlled substance with intent to commit a crime - 1st offense, and drugs/ manufacture, distribution, etc. of methamphetamine, 1st offense.

Chester Walters, 27, is charged with drugs/ manufacture, distribution, etc. of methamphetamine, 1st offense.

Jerica Gunter, 23, and Lauren Lew, 24, are charged with manufacturing, possession of schedule IV drugs, except flunitrazepam, with intent to distribute, 1st offense.

All four were booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
