The Camden Police Department says a woman who was reported missing has been found in Florence County.

Police said Thursday morning Norma Jean Aveyard, 63, was found in her pickup truck by Florence County deputies.  The truck had run out of gas.

She was taken to Kershaw Health hospital for treatment.

When she was reported missing Wednesday, police said this behavior was out of the ordinary for her and are concerned about her well being.

"It's odd to the extent that we have a lady that's missing from our community since yesterday midday, and it seems that no one, her family, or any of her friends, or anyone else that normally had contact with her, have had the ability to communicate with her in any way," said Camden Police Chief Joseph Floyd Wednesday.

Police say Norma was staying with a friend. That friend, who doesn't want to be identified publicly, tells WIS she was one of the last to see Aveyard Tuesday.

She says Aveyard had nowhere to stay, so the woman was allowing Aveyard to stay in her home, after she says family kicked the missing woman out.

While the woman was at the salon, Aveyard apparently left, leaving everything of hers behind, including her clothes, the woman tells WIS.

Camden police say Aveyard had been acting strange for the last few days, according to witness accounts. They are worried she might not be in a sound state of mind and could be lost and confused.

Last week, according to the homeowner, a police officer came to the home on Lyttleton Street, where Aveyard was staying, after a family member apparently reported that Aveyard was going to harm herself.
