COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Two weeks before the official start of winter, treacherous weather continues to batter parts of the Midwest.

Crews in a dozen states are preparing for an ice storm that is expected to cause wide spread power outages.

South Carolina Electric and Gas announced Thursday they will be sending 149 contract linemen to Little Rock, Ark. to assist a utility co-op after the ice storm hits.

SCE&G said they are not sure if any additional crews will be sent to other hard hit areas in the region.

Crews from South Carolina are expected to leave Friday morning.
