Mother, daughters accused of beating girl

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville woman is accused of actively participating with her daughters in the beating of a girl last summer.

According to police, Kim L. Mitchell's juvenile daughter had been engaged in a physical altercation with another girl on June 19. Investigators said Mitchell, 45, arrived on the scene and punched the girl in the face and back, grabbed her hair and kicked her in the mouth, chipping her tooth. An arrest report states Mitchell's daughters then continued to hit the girl while Mitchell held her by the hair.

Police said the victim suffered a busted lip, a knot on her forehead, bruises on her back and scratches on her left arm. Her cell phone, worth approximately $500, was broken during the altercation, according to investigators.

Mitchell is charged with 4th degree assault and 3rd degree criminal mischief.
