WEBSTER CO., KY (WFIE) -

About 30 KU customers remain without power in Webster County, KY.

At first, the outage affected more than 1,100 people early Thursday morning.

A company spokesperson says a transmission line went out between Nebo and Wheatcroft around 12:30 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to work on the issue that affected seven distribution substations.

The majority of customers had their power restored around 1:45 a.m.

The rest can expect to have power back by 5:00 a.m.

The cause of the outage is unknown.

Workers had to shift the electricity to another source.

Webster County EMA says KU's numbers on the website do not reflect the approximately 1200 customers that are served by the Providence Municipal Power system.
