PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

A man wanted on drug charges four months was arrested Wednesday, December 4 after a routine traffic stop.

Derrick Tucker, 32, of Paducah, was charged with two counts of first degree trafficking in a controlled substance (crack cocaine), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, giving an officer a false name or address and resisting arrest.

According to the Paducah Police Department, an officer stopped a vehicle around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday for traffic violations, and a passenger in the vehicle gave him a false name. When the officer tried to search the man, he said he felt a handgun in the man's waistband. Police say the man tried to run, but was caught a short distance away.

The man was identified at Tucker who was charged by Drug and Vice Enforcement detectives in August with trafficking in a controlled substance.

Police say a loaded 9mm handgun was found in Tucker's waistband. He was booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail.
