CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

A New Jersey man known as the "boastful bandit" was sentenced in federal court to 22 years for robbing a bank in Mount Pleasant and another in Florida.

Craig Ozarowski was sentenced in Charleston on Wednesday. He had pleaded guilty in August to two counts of bank robbery. Following his release from prison, he will have three years of federal supervised release.

Evidence presented at the change of plea hearing established that Ozarowski robbed one bank in St. Augustine, FL, on Feb. 8, 2013, before robbing the Suntrust Bank at 404 Johnnie Dodds Blvd. in Mount Pleasant on Feb. 13.

Ozarowski had just been released from prison in December 2012 after being incarcerated in federal and state prisons since 1984.  Ozarowski's prior record includes multiple convictions for robberies, malicious damage to property while in federal prison and assaulting a prison official.

According to the Associated Press, Ozarowski boasted to police in the 1980s he had pulled off 30 robberies, 13 of them at banks.  Additionally, he was allegedly known to call authorities and challenge them to catch him after the robberies.
