The Cayce City Council has approved $300,000 to complete the final phase of the Riverwalk.

City council voted unanimously Thursday night to allocate TIF revenues for the project.  The city received a $100,000 federal grant administered through the South Carolina Department of Parks Recreation and Tourism.

The final .06 mile of trail connects the trail at the Thomas Newman Boat Landing with the Timmerman Trail near the SCANA facility off the 12th Street Extension.  Once completed, Cayce will have eight miles of continuous trail spanning from the Blossom Street Bridge to Interstate 77.  The paved bike-hike path is part of the Three Rivers Greenway.

City officials expect the bidding process to begin in January.
