Lexington family creates winter wonderland to help kids in need

LEXINGTON, SC (WIS) -

A Midlands family is going crazy with Christmas lights this year, but they are not trying to impress their neighbors, instead they want to send a girl to Disneyland.

Jerry and Marci spend all year planning the show and this year has added more bulbs and a special salute to the military.

The Hite's collect donations for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Last year, they helped make a Gaston boy's wish of going to Disneyland come true.

"It felt really good," Jerry said. "That's what it's all about. If we can make a little kid happy and his family happy, then our goal is accomplished."

Jerry enjoys putting up the display but says making wishes come true take it to another level.

This year, the Hite's are working on sending a 6-year-old girl from the upstate on her Disney trip. She's battling Leukemia and recently lost her father.

If you'd like to help make her wish come true and take in a spectacular light show, stop by 200 Dupre Mill Road in Lexington.
