LOXAHATCHEE, FL (WPEC/CNN) – A seven-year-old in Florida is recovering after an out of this world encounter.

Steven Lippard was playing in his family's driveway over the weekend when he was hit with what looked like rocks.

The fragments were taken to Florida Atlantic University, where researchers determined that they met all the criteria that make up meteorites.

The rare rocks need further chemical testing to confirm that they are indeed meteorites.

For the young Lippard, however, he's sporting three staples where the space rocks hit him, but is expected to be OK.
