JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

Political newcomer Jeramey Anderson is the newest representative in the state House, representing Jackson County's District 110.

The 21-year-old won 1,455 votes in Tuesday's runoff election. Former Moss Point Mayor Aneice Liddell garnered 948 votes. There are still 101 affidavit votes left to be counted, but that's not enough to change the outcome of the race.

Anderson told WLOX News just days ago that if elected, eliminating flood insurance woes and improving education will be major priorities.

Anderson replaces Billy Broomfield, who resigned from the House when he became mayor of Moss Point.
