Tornado watch canceled for Midlands counties

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

The National Weather Service has canceled a tornado watch that was placed on several Midlands counties Tuesday night.

The NWS says the watch that was supposed to last until 1 a.m. for Orangeburg, Clarendon, and Bamberg counties has been rescinded.

However, a watch remains in effect for Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dillon, Dorchester, Florence, Georgetown, Hampton, Horry, Jasper, Marion, and Williamsburg counties are currently under this watch until 1 a.m.

A watch merely means conditions are favorable for tornadic activity and not an indicator of one actually being spotted.
