District: Mom hit by car taking glasses to Boiling Springs High student

BOILING SPRINGS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Firefighters said a person was hit near Boiling Springs High School Tuesday morning.

Boiling Springs firefighters said they were called to the wreck on Old Furnace Road, which troopers said happened about 9:15 a.m.

Rhonda Henderson, spokesperson for Spartanburg District Two, said a mother was walking across the road to take a pair of glasses to her child, a student at the high school, when she was hit by a car.

Henderson said the school nurse and prinicpal assisted at the scene, but she did not have any details about her injuries.

Deputies said the Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck but confirmed that the woman was hit by a car as she returned to school to give the student his forgotten glasses.

She was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries, according to deputies.
