WIS teams with Palmetto Project to make Christmas merry for needy

The following Perspective is an expression of opinion by the Editorial Board at WIS, and presented by General Manager Donita Todd.

For 23 years, WIS and Palmetto Project have partnered in a service project called Families Helping Families, and it's that time of year again.

Each year Palmetto Project identifies needy families throughout the Midlands who might otherwise not enjoy a very merry Christmas.  These families are then anonymously adopted by folks just like you who experience the real meaning of Christmas by providing gifts for each member of that adopted family. The gifts are collected by Palmetto Project and distributed just in time for Christmas. This year Palmetto Project has identified 3,000 families who need our assistance.

You can experience the true gift of giving by calling one of our volunteers at 803-758-1020 or logging onto wistv.com to adopt a family. The WIS phone banks are open from 5am to 7:30pm. Make a gift you will always cherish and help provide a memorable Christmas to those less fortunate right here in the Midlands.  WIS and Palmetto Project thank you for participating in Families Helping Families.
