HOPKINS, SC (WIS) -

A peculiar traffic stop in the Alexander Pointe subdivision in Hopkins helped Richland County deputies arrest and charge a man with four counts of burglary and larceny.

Harrison Jones, 22, was arrested on Nov. 13 after a deputy saw him driving a moped while transporting a 39" flat screen television.

According to the Richland County Sheriff's Department, Jones was immediately detained because of how he was driving the moped and because of recent burglaries in the area.

The deputy discovered Jones' license was suspended and he had no permit for the moped. While searching the moped for the VIN, the deputy also found a semi-automatic handgun that had been reported stolen.

In all, Sheriff's investigators say Jones is responsible for breaking into three residences in the Hopkins area and stealing high-end electronics in order to pawn them.

In fact, according to investigators, Jones broke into one home twice to steal the television that was replaced from the first burglary he committed at the residence.

Jones remains in custody.
