Man faces drug charges after deputes find him passed out behind wheel on busy road

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

A Columbia man faces two drug charges after Lexington County Sheriff's deputies say he was found unconscious behind the wheel of his SUV on St. Andrews Road.

According to the incident report, a passerby called deputies at about 5:30 a.m. Friday to report a car stopped in the 6500 block of St. Andrews Road.  Deputies found the SUV on the wrong side of the road, partially on the curb, with the engine running and the driver unconscious behind the wheel.

When he woke up, 42-year-old Jahbou Rudolpfh Drakes told deputies he had been drinking.  The incident report says deputies noticed a scent of marijuana coming from the SUV, so they searched the vehicle.

Deputies say they found a Crown Royal bag containing a "green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, a pill bottle containing several bags of "white  powder substance, believed to be powder cocaine, and a small scale.

Drakes was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine and taken to the Lexington County Detention Center.  Bond was set at $3,120.
