Crash claims life in Worth County

SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) -

Families and friend are mourning the unfortunate death of Worth County man Alan Etheredge.

Etheredge passed away Monday evening after pulling into his driveway. He got out of his pickup truck. The truck then jumped into gear and pinned him between the truck and the fence.

Mike DeMott, Etheredge's former employer at DeMott Peanut & Fertilizer, says his staff is shaken by the news.

"It's sad, one of my employees just broke down crying this morning. It's just sad, everybody is just real down about it you know," Etheredge said.

He says that Etheredge, his employee for three years was a man of high character.

"He loved to work and he loved his Lord," DeMott said.

Etheridge leaves behind two sons and a wife.
