COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott plans to speak to the media Tuesday afternoon to update the investigation into the shooting of former University of South Carolina running back Kenny Miles.

Lott will hold a news conference at 2:30 at sheriff's department headquarters on Two Notch Road.

Miles was shot in the arm last Monday. He was found in a business park near the intersection of Kinley Road and Broad River Road.

Initial reports indicated the Lawrenceville, Ga. native was wounded during a robbery.

A day later, Lott said that version of the story was false, but stopped short of revealing exactly what happened. The sheriff said his department would continue investigating.

"The only thing that I can verify to you is that Kenny Miles has been shot," said Lott.

Check back here later today for a link to a live video stream of the news conference.
