COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

A months-long investigation into the criminal activities of area street gangs has netted eight arrests and the seizure of several kilograms of cocaine, multiple firearms, and cash. Authorities believe the arrestees and others are the primary cocaine suppliers for many of the local street gangs in the Midlands.

Investigators with the FBI say the eight suspects were working together to buy large quantities of cocaine and sell it to street dealers.

Officials identified the suspects as the following:

-LAMARIO VINCENT WRIGHT, aka "Mickelton Gadson" and "K.B."
-RANDY LEE JOHNSON, JR., aka "Bo Skete"
-KELVIN ALEXANDER JOHNSON, aka "Smiley"
-DEVIN ORLDANDO DENNIS, aka "Dutch"
-ROBERT JO JAMISON, aka "Jo Jo", "City Boy" and "City"
-CHARLIE WILLEY CLARK, JR., aka "Slim"
-STEPHEN MICHAEL GRAHAM, aka "Money Mike"
-LAVON MYERS, aka "Road Master"

Search warrants were served for these suspects in several Columbia neighborhoods such as Northeast Columbia, the Starlight neighborhood, South Beltline Boulevard, Two Notch Road, and Fontaine Road.

Warrants were also served in Eutawville and Orangeburg.

"This investigation was designed to disrupt the drug supply network of multiple violent gangs operating in Columbia, and dismantle a major drug trafficking organization from operating in the community," stated a news release.

FBI officials say several further indictments and arrests could be coming as a result of this investigation.

"Dismantling violent gangs is a continuing priority for the FBI," said Special Agent in Charge David Thomas. "We share a long commitment with our law enforcement partners to address the dangerous threat facing our communities today. The charges demonstrate our focus and determination to strike at gangs related enterprises and to eliminate the terror these groups inflict on our neighborhoods."
