GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

It has been one year since more than 1.5 million people followed the pregnancy and birth of Kiko the giraffe live online and now it's time to celebrate his birthday at the Greenville Zoo.

Viewers worldwide followed Autumn, a 7-year-old female Masai giraffe, via the zoo's EarthCam during her pregnancy and watched the live birth of Kiko last October.

To celebrate Kiko's first birthday, the zoo is hosting a party Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. featuring free cake and Pepsi products for the first 300 guests. And for Kiko, he will get a special treat made of Ry-Krisp crackers, banana paste and hay.

"Kiko has had a wonderful first year," said Jeff Bullock, Director of the Greenville Zoo. "He is healthy and growing and progressing how he should."

Both of Kiko's parents, Walter and Autumn, are on loan to the zoo as part of a breeding loan. Autumn came from the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston and Walter came from the San Diego Zoo.

According to the agreement, Kiko will one day return to Boston, but Bullock says he expects Kiko to stay in Greenville at least through the Summer of 2014. Once Autumn and Walter have more calves, the second calf will return to San Diego then the third will stay in Greenville.

Regular admission fees to the zoo apply on Tuesday, but children dressed as a giraffe will get in free all day. Prices are as follows: Adults $8.75, Children (ages 3-15) $5.50, Children Under 3 are free.

The zoo is open from 10 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. with gates closing at 5 p.m.
