Summerville 17, Beaufort 0 (Live 5 Game of the Week) - The Green Wave's defense dominated in a battle for first place in Region 8-AAAA. Sawyer Bridges threw touchdowns passes to Jacerie Ponder and Johnston McCurry to help Summerville go to 6-2, 2-0.  The Eagles fall to 6-2, 1-1.

Bluffton 41, Ashley Ridge 28 - The Swamp Foxes' three-game winning streak ends on the road as they fall to 3-5, 1-1 in Region 8-AAAA. The Bobcats are now 5-3, 1-1.

Fort Dorchester 56, Colleton County 14 - The Patriots opened the game with 35 unanswered points; they go to 5-3, 1-1 in Region 8-AAAA while the Cougars fall to 2-6, 0-2.

Goose Creek 55, Cane Bay 7 - The Gators (8-0, 1-0 in Region 7-AAAA) began league play with a dominating victory over the Cobras (0-8, 0-2). Tyrik Johnson ran for 148 yards and two touchdowns, and Evan McField added 123 yards rushing and three TD's.  Goose Creek rushed for a total 402 yards; Dantez Bennamon was 7-10 passing for 117 yard in the win.

Stratford 35, Wando 7 - The Knights (8-0, 2-0 in Region 7-AAAA) stayed perfect as Jacob Park passed for 211 yards and touchdown, and in the process set the school's single-season passing record (yards through the air).  Tyree Scroggins (7 catches, 91 yards, TD) and Thad Thompson (6 catches, 80 yards, TD) had solid nights catching the ball for Stratford. Jameak Jones did damage on the ground, rushing for 81 yards and two touchdowns on just seven carries. The Warriors fall to 3-5, 1-1.

West Ashley 49, Conway 14 - The Wildcats (5-3) ended a three-game slide as Bobby Ruff racked up five sacks in a big home win.

Hanahan 41, James Island 8 - The Hawks (8-0, 3-0 in Region 8-AAA) rolled to a big win on the road, and will play for the league title next week at home against Hilton Head (7-1, 2-1).  The Trojans are now 1-7, 0-3.

Berkeley 41, Stall 10 - The Stags (4-4, 2-1 in Region 8-AAA) had little trouble at home with the Warriors (1-7, 0-3). 

Bishop England 59, Garrett 26 - The Battling Bishops (6-2, 5-0 in Region 6-AA) lit up the scoreboard as they cruised past the Falcons (5-3, 2-3).  

Woodland 40, Ridgeland-Hardeeville 20 - The Wolverines (8-0, 5-0 in Region 6-AA) will play for at least a share of the league title next week with they visit Bishop England.

North Charleston 51, Battery Creek 57, North Charleston 51 - The Cougars (1-7, 1-4 in Region 6-AA) came up short on the road as the Dolphins (3-5, 2-3) scored a touchdown on the last play of the game.

Academic Magnet 63, Burke 26 - The Raptors (3-5, 1-4 in Region 6-AA) outscored the Bulldogs (0-8, 0-5) on the road.

Timberland 35, Lake Marion 13 - The Wolves (6-2, 3-0 in Region 7-AA) is still alone in first place in the league.

St. John's 30, Military Magnet 8 - The Islanders (5-3, 3-0 in Region 6-A) won the league title with a solid win on the road. The Eagles are 3-5, 0-2.

Cross 56, Lincoln 8 - Diamonte Evans returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown to help the Trojans (4-5, 2-1 in Region 6-A) roll to a victory over the Yellow Jackets (1-7, 0-2).

 

SCISA (11-Man)

Cardinal Newman 47, Porter-Gaud 28 - The Cyclones are 3-6, 3-4 in SCISA AAA.

Laurence Manning 42, Pinewood Prep 14 - The Panthers (0-8, 0-7 in SCISA AAA) are still looking for their first win of 2013.

Northwood Academy 51, Palmetto Christian 32 - The Chargers (6-2, 2-1 in Region 2-AA) stunned the Eagles (5-2, 1-1) on the road, as PCA's star quarterback J.T. Waters did not play (no reason was given by the coaching staff on Friday night).
