Driver dead after crash in Murfreesboro

MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -

Officials are investigating a fatal crash that happened in Murfreesboro Friday morning.

Police say a vehicle left the road on the 1000 block of E. Clark Boulevard and hit a tree at 7:12 a.m.

The driver was removed from the vehicle and crews immediately began CPR until EMS arrived.

The victim was taken to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver's name has not been released at this time.

Officials say it is not clear at this time if a medical condition led to the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
