Golden Rams need Homecoming win

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

No doubt about it: homecoming is always a game you want to win.

But for Albany State, this year, it's a must win.

The Golden Rams host Morehouse during this year's festivities, and Mike White's team hoping to send the large crowd home happy.

"We try to look at it as another game, but Homecoming is never another game," says White. "This is a super, super important game, and with the crowd and the atmosphere on campus, it's no way this is another game. We have to have this one."

They haven't had any trouble staying in games. It's finishing that's been the issue for the 1-4 Rams.

Each loss has been by eight points or less.

That's something this team hopes to correct in front of the Homecoming crowd.

"We want to put ourselves in a good situation in the fourth quarter and close this game out," White says. "I look for our guys to kind of rally, being at home with the crowd behind us. I feel real good about this Homecoming."

The Rams will have WR Jessie Atkins and DB Armageddon Draughn back Saturday.

Kickoff against Morehouse is at 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
