Authorities arrested a man this week wanted for a string of burglaries in Chapin.

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said Donald Malina, 39, was charged with burglary, larceny, malicious injury to property, violation of parole and shoplifting.

Lott said Malina burglarized several homes near Lake Murray Elementary School in Chapin and Killoy Office Equipment in Columbia.

Malina is accused of stealing $7,000 worth of jewelry and electronics from the homes and business.

Lott said additional charges may be added later.

Malinda was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
