ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Veterans Day parade in Anderson County was in jeopardy of being canceled this year for lack of interest, but after a vote, it was decided it will return this year.

Members of the Veterans Association in the county held a meeting Thursday to rally up support for the event.

Members of the community joined together at the American Legion Post 14 in Anderson and decided that the event will happen as planned.

Committee members say the parade is a lot of work to make happen and never easy, but it's always been worth it.

The parade will wind through the streets of downtown Anderson on Sunday, Nov. 10. The parade will start at 3 p.m.

Organizers Frank Allison and Kenneth Lewallen told FOX Carolina they are proud of veterans and Marines. They said the Veterans Day parade has always been something they looked forward to, an honor they believe their fellow veterans deserve.
