Deputy crashes into building

A Lexington County deputy crashed his patrol vehicle into a building while responding to a call Monday night.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the deputy was driving south on West Main Street in Lexington when his cruiser ran off the road and hit a building. The incident happened just after 7:30 p.m.

Troopers said 25-year-old Matthew Kyzer was wearing a seatbelt and was not hurt.

According to the Highway Patrol, Kyzer was responding to a call when the crash happened.

The Highway Patrol is investigating.
