As we approach October, many of you are probably planning a drive through the Western North Carolina mountains to see some fall color. You may want to wait just a week or so before taking a trip. I am including a great map put together by the Department of Biology at Appalachian State University. Each year is different, but you can use this as "guidance" for average peak color dates and locations.
