KERSHAW COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

A LeMons racer died Saturday at Carolina Motorsports Park, officials said.

Kerhsaw County Coroner Johnny Fellers said 63-year-old Sidney Brayton died of natural causes.

Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews said Brayton was racing when he drove straight into a guard rail on the track.

All of Brayton's safety equipment was working and was not hit by anyone, Matthews said.

The 24 hours of LeMons pits "lemons" against each other on the race track. Racers are only allowed to spend $500 per vehicle.

Races will conclude Sunday.
