Deputies: Bond denied for man charged with murder after abused baby dies

CHESTER COUNTY, SC (WBTV) -

A Chester County man is facing murder charges after an 11-month-old baby was abused and later died from head injuries in the hospital.

27-year-old Jeffery Todd Bradley Jr appeared in court Saturday. His bond was denied. 

According to the Chester County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to a home along the 1900-block of  Hardin Strait Road on Wednesday after getting a call about a baby being injured.

When officers arrived at the home, they found it empty.

The Sheriff's Office was contacted a short time later by officials at the Levine Children's Hospital, in Charlotte, about the injured child. The hospital also contacted officials from the Department of Social Services.

The child, which was in Bradley's care ,suffered a critical head injury. 

The child died from their injuries on Friday afternoon at 3:42 p.m., deputies told WBTV.

Bradley was arrested and has been charged with murder, homicide by child abuse.
