PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A woman who caused a fatal three-vehicle collision by driving the wrong way on the Loop 101 Pima Freeway more than a year ago was sentenced to 10 1/2 years in prison Friday.

Judge Teresa Sanders also sentenced 59-year-old Carol Ann Sacca to three years of supervised probation upon her release and to pay more than $2,000 in restitution.

Sacca had pleaded guilty to manslaughter and two counts of endangerment. She was credited with a little more than a year served.

Sacca was originally charged with second-degree murder in the crash Aug. 26, 2012, in which she drove her sedan west in the eastbound lanes of Loop 101 into three brothers on motorcycles near Cave Creek Road.

Scott Benson, 43, died of his injuries after he was struck. Mike Benson crashed as he tried to avoid the car, and Bill Benson laid down his bike after striking Sacca's car.

Sacca admitted to driving while on several medications and that she panicked after she made a U-turn in the eastbound lanes into oncoming traffic.
