FORT MILL, SC (WBTV) -

Investigators say a SWAT situation is over in Fort Mill after a man walked out of his home following a family dispute that got out of hand.

According to officials at the York County Sheriff's Office, the situation ended just after 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening.

A SWAT team surrounded a home on 1st Street nearly five hours earlier, just before 12:30 p.m.

Officials initially said investigators were called to the home for a domestic violence call, but later said the incident was a family dispute that got out of hand.

The man had barricaded himself inside his home and was involved in a standoff with law enforcement for nearly five hours.

It is unclear if the man was armed, but WBTV learned that no shots were fired in the incident.

School buses were rerouted around the area as area schools let out. There is a high school and an elementary school within a couple of miles from the incident.

No names have been released in the incident and no charges have been filed in the case.
