A South Carolina woman who drove her mini-van into the ocean at Daytona Beach with her three kids inside is from Cross in Berkeley County, according to authorities in Florida. Police say they interviewed her two hours before the Tuesday afternoon incident but the woman was released because she showed no signs of being suicidal.More >>
MIAMI (AP) - Tropical Storm Gabrielle has re-formed in the Atlantic and is approaching Bermuda.
The storm's maximum sustained winds early Tuesday are near 40 mph (65 kph) with some strengthening forecast over the next two days.
A tropical storm warning has been issued for Bermuda, where Gabrielle is expected to bring a storm surge of 2 to 3 feet above normal tide levels. The U.S. National Hurricane Center says the storm is expected to pass over or near Bermuda by Wednesday morning.
The tropical storm is centered about 165 miles (265 kilometers) south of Bermuda and is moving north near 14 mph (22 kph).
Farther east over the Atlantic, Tropical Storm Humberto's maximum sustained winds have increased to near 65 mph (100 kph)and the storm is expected to become a hurricane later in the day.
