A fun outing for two longtime friends turned tragic in Fort Mill after investigators found two bodies in Lake Haigler.
According to WBTV's news partner CN2, DNR found the second body about 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
Investigators believe it is 62-year-old John Wilson.
68-year-old Joseph Jeter's body was found Friday morning.
Investigators believe the small boat overturned in Lake Haigler about 7 p.m. Thursday night.
Emotions ran high Friday morning as family members of Joseph Jeter got the terrible news they hoped not to hear.
"I was just thinking to myself, ‘this can't be true. It's a dream, I'm going to wake up and this is all going to be over.' But as I stand here this morning I realize it's reality," said Jeter's Daughter Saundra Hoyle.
"He was a heck of a man. He'd do anything for you. He was the type of friend if he had to give his life for yours, he would do it," said Jeter's Friend Kelvin Foster.
Sky 3 flew over the 28-acre lake as investigators searched it Friday morning for two men reported missing after a passerby spotted the overturned boat Thursday not too far from Jeter's truck.
Relatives say the two loved fishing together.
"He was a very forgiving and loving person and fishing was a part of his life," said Wilson's nephew David Wilson.
How the boat overturned is still under investigation.
"Nobody has the full story, you know, but we would like to find out and get closure and understanding of it," said Wilson.
Officials say the two men were not wearing life jackets.
Jeter is survived by seven children, Wilson, six.
Jeter's death marks the first death on a York County lake this year.
