A deadly crash along Georgia Highway 520, near the Tift and Worth County line, left one man dead Monday morning.

A semi truck crashed around 9 am today near the Tift and Worth County Line. It took two large tow trucks to remove the cab of the semi from the trees.

The driver, 67-Year-old Richard Dumoulin, was traveling east on Gerogia Highway 520 when he left the road and crossed the median into the westbound lane. He was hauling corn seed at the time.

"The vehicle was traveling east on Georgia Highway 520. The driver left the roadway crossed the median into the westbound lane it left the roadway, and went off into the north shoulder," says Senior Trooper Darryl Benton.

Law enforcement officials, including the Georgia State Patrol, area fire departments, and the Worth County Coroner were at the scene assisting. The cause of the crash has not been released.

In the meantime, patrol officers ask that drivers be careful while traveling on the roadways this Labor Day.

"We would like the public to understand that we would like everyone to remain safe in their endeavors of going back home this holiday period. This is the last day of the holiday, this is a travel day and there is going be a lot of traffic on the roadway. We ask everyone to be mindful of others, and pay attention to the road, and the drivers, and just have a safe trip," says Trooper Benton.
