COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Columbia Police arrested two men Friday wanted for carjacking after a short chase.

22-year-old Telvin Grayson and 23-year-old James Davis are charged with carjacking, attempted armed robbery and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.  Police charged Grayson with failure to stop for blue lights because he was driving the vehicle.

Police say an officer noticed a vehicle at the intersection of Harden Street and Colonial Drive that had been reported stolen in a carjacking on Marion Street.  As the officer attempted to pull the vehicle over, police say Grayson did not stop.

Investigators say Grayson drove to Adams Street, where he and Davis jumped out of the SUV as it was moving.  The SUV crashed into a fence.

Using K-9 units, police tracked Grayson and Davis to a home on High Street, where they were arrested.  There were no injuries.

Police recovered a gun from the vehicle.  A check on the weapon revealed that it was not reported stolen.

Grayson and Davis were taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
