Deputies release images of suspect, vehicles that may be connected to BP shooting

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

A worker was wounded by gunfire late Thursday night while he was taking out the garbage at a Garners Ferry Road business, according to the Richland County Sheriff's Department.

Investigators say the shooting happened just before 11 p.m. when the victim was shot by an black male with dreadlocks wearing a black hoodie and white shoes. 

Following the shooting, the victim told deputies four to six black males left the scene in a burgundy four-door car, possibly a burgundy Honda Accord.

The victim was taken to Palmetto Health Richland and where he was treated and released with non-life-threatening injuries.

Sheriff Leon Lott said video surveillance equipment captured at least one of the suspects and the suspects vehicle. Another vehicle, likely a gold Toyota Corolla, was also in the area and the occupants may have vital information about this shooting.
