For the better part of the decade, Morrell has been the authority on Gamecock football and recruiting. He joined TheBigSpur.com as a co-owner and daily contributor in May of 2009 and his addition directly led to a skyrocketing of growth in daily visitors and members. Morrell is a native of Rock Hill, S.C., and is a graduate of the University of South Carolina.

Whittle has been with TheBigSpur.com since 2007 and handles the daily beat coverage for all of South Carolina athletics with a concentration on Gamecock football and baseball. He's widely regarded as the authority on South Carolina's national championship-winning baseball program and is the only baseball recruiting writer in the market. Known for his witty, friendly style of writing and penchant for breaking news, Whittle is respected across the state of South Carolina and the SEC for his work. Whittle is a native of Columbia, S.C., and is a graduate of the University of South Carolina.

Mitchell joined the team with TheBigSpur.com on August 1, 2012 after spending his career as a reporter, and later a publisher, at Scout.com. He is well-connected in the football program, both at a team and recruiting level. Mitchell is a do-it-all reporter and is well-versed across all sports. Currently, Mitchell is a co-host on The Zone from 1-4 p.m. on 1230 AM in Columbia, S.C. A York, S.C. native, Mitchell is a graduate of the University of South Carolina.

 

William Gunter

Gunter, a former high school basketball and AAU basketball coach, is the authority on basketball recruiting in the state of South Carolina and is known throughout the Southeast for his knowledge of basketball and basketball recruiting. Gunter joined the TBS staff in 2008 and is the founder of Palmetto Scouting Basketball and also co-hosts Sports Talk, First Edition on 1400-AM in Columbia, S.C.. Gunter is a native of Lexington, S.C., and is a graduate of the University of South Carolina.
