COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

The father charged with killing his 7-week-old son in a child abuse incident will also be charged with abusing his 1-year-old daughter, according to the Richland County Sheriff's Department.

Department spokesperson Curtis Wilson said 22-year-old Aqien Miller also confessed to causing serious injuries to his daughter's upper and lower body between May 15, 2012 and Sept. 17, 2012.

Miller's daughter, according to Wilson, is still alive.

Miller stands charged with homicide by child abuse in the death of his son, Tyler Jamar Miller, who was brought in unresponsive to Palmetto Health Richland Children's Hospital on Aug. 9.

Investigators ruled his injuries to be suspicious and initially charged Miller with infliction of great bodily harm. The charge was later upgraded after Tyler died.
