(WMC-TV) - A woman in town for a for a local horse show made a quick stop at a local Target to have one of her prized possessions stolen: Her dog Copper.

Now, owner Gwen Skinner is offering a pretty penny to bring the Chihuahua back home.

"He goes everywhere with me. Completely, my love," said Skinner. "He's been like my world for the past four years."

The pair stays on the road showing horses.

They were in town in early June for the Germantown Charity Horse Show.

Saturday morning Skinner raced to Target on Poplar Avenue at Ridgeway Road for a quick visit to buy one last-minute supply of cling wrap for her horses' bandages. The purchase was $2.50, but she found it cost her a lot more.

Though her windows were rolled down, and her locks had been popped; her car broken into by a theft.

"They had taken my backpack with all my school stuff, my computer, my iPad, cash, everything else ... And my dog," said Skinner.

Surveillance video shows a blue Pontiac Bonneville following Skinner's hatchback into the parking lot. When she walked inside, the same car pulled alongside her now parked car. Someone jumped out, broke in, and stole everything.

Skinner spent the next five days, 15 hours a day from open to close, in the parking lot – searching for the blue car and her dog.

She posted signs around town and printed $2,000 fliers. Skinner is offering a $1,000 reward with no questions asked.

"I just really, really want my dog back. I don't care about the stuff. Honestly my last concern is who did it. As long as he's okay," she said.

Her ultimate goal is a reunion, even if police never solve this Copper theft. If you can help her find her dog, Gwen asks you to call her at (901) 229-3310.
