A sheriff says claims made by a white supremacist couple that they were involved with several different killings and other crimes across South Carolina have not panned out.

Jeremy and Christine Moody are each charged with killing a registered sex offender and his wife in their Jonesville home last month.

On their Facebook pages, the Moodys both say they are members of a white power sect called Crew 41. The organization was new to law enforcement and the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate groups across the country.

The couple appears to be the only Crew 41 members in South Carolina.

Union County Sheriff David Taylor says their claims are "a bunch of bluster."

Last week, Taylor confirmed that Jeremy Moody authored a 2012 book called Yesterday, Today, and Forever.

In the book, Moody claims that he'd been a "white nationalist skinhead for over a decade" and rails on everything from interracial dating to homosexuality to child molesters.

At a bond court appearance, Christine Moody called the Parkers "pedophiles" and referred to Charles Parker as a "demon." Jeremy Moody said Charles Parker "deserved what he got."

Deputies said the Moodys planned to kill more people on the sex offender registry before they were caught. Both are being held at the Union County Detention Center without bond.
